Poker Rules

The basic rules of poker are quite easy to understand, the different games of poker can be quite complex to those who haven't played before. Below we have a variety of rules for the different poker games available.

In this section we will give you the rules of casino poker. We will start with 4 variations of table poker games.

Caribbean Stud® Poker

First, click on the chips to place an ante. Now click on Deal to deal the cards. You will be dealt a five-card hand, face up. No additional cards will be dealt for the duration of this game round. Decide whether to stay in or fold. If you fold (click on Fold button), you will lose your ante and this game round is over for you.

If you stay (click on Call), you add double the amount of your ante to the bet. Now the dealer’s cards are flipped over so everyone can see them. If the dealer’s hand does not include an Ace/King combination or higher, the dealer does not qualify. You win even money (1 to 1) on the ante and the additional bet is returned.

If the dealer’s hand includes a combination that is higher than yours, you lose both the ante and the additional bet.

If the dealer’s hand contains an Ace/King or higher, but your hand is higher, you win even money on the ante and the additional bet pays according to the winnings table.

One of the possible wins in this game is the progressive Jackpot. A small percentage of each bet, by every person playing this game in each of many online casinos, is added to a common pot. When a player gets the right result, that player wins the entire Jackpot (in some games you can also win part of it). After a Jackpot has been won, a new pot is started, with the casinos contributing a base amount of money (called a seed). This ensures that even if you get a Jackpot result in a game right after someone else has won the Jackpot, you will still get a large win. Each game has its own Jackpot, built up by all the casinos that offer the game.

Red Dog

In Red Dog, number cards count as their face value, Jack is 11, Queen is 12, King is 13 and Ace is 14. The suit is irrelevant.

First, click on the chips to place a bet. To remove chips from the bet, right click on the chips. Click on the Deal button.

Two cards are drawn. If the cards are consecutive, it is a tie (your wager is returned to you and the round is over). If the cards are equal, a third card is drawn. If it matches the first two cards, you win 11 to 1; otherwise it is a tie. If the two cards are neither consecutive nor equal, the spread is established. The spread is the number of card values between the two cards. For example - 2 and 4 have a spread of 1; 6 and a Queen have a spread of 5.

Now you have the option to raise (double) your bet or to call (continue without raising). Press Raise or Call respectively.

A third card is drawn. If it is between the two cards, you win according to the payout table (seen on the card table). If it matches one of the two cards or is outside the spread, you lose.

Please note that if you win a hand, you get your bet back along with the winnings. Thus, on a spread that pays even money (is marked "Even"), you will receive double your bet amount in case of a victory. For example , if you bet $5 and win on an even spread, you get $10. If you win on a spread of 3, that pays 2:1, you get double your bet in winnings ($10) plus your bet back ($5). Click New Game if you wish to play again. Place a bet as described above, or click Rebet to place the same bet again.

Casino Hold ’Em

Casino Hold 'Em is a variation of five-card poker. You are dealt two cards, and you must use them along with the five-card flop to make the best possible poker hand. The AA side bet is optional. Here, you bet on whether the first five cards dealt (your two cards plus the first three flop cards) will include a pair of Aces or better. The best possible hand is formed for you automatically.

To play the game: Click on chips to select them. Then click the AA and Ante circles on the table to place your bets. Every click increases your bet by the chip value, and every right-click decreases the bet. You can also click Clear bets to remove all bets from the table and start over. Click the Deal button.

Both you and the dealer will be given two cards (the dealer’s are face down), and three cards will be dealt to the flop. If the cards you see make up a Poker hand, the type of the hand is displayed to you. If you have a pair of Aces or better, you have won the AA side bet.

You can now choose to Call and continue playing against the dealer, or Fold and lose your bets. If you call, you will have to place double your original Ante bet in the Call circle. Please note: if you do not have sufficient balance to place the Call bet, you can either fold or go to the Cashier and deposit some more money. Please note: you must call to collect your AA side bet winnings! If you don’t, you will lose your AA bet even if you have a valid hand.

The last two cards are dealt to the flop. The dealer turns his cards face up, and the best possible hand is formed for each of you. If your hand is better than the dealer’s, you win and your Ante and Call bets are returned to you along with your winnings. If not, you lose your bets. If you want to play another round, press New Game. Then place your bets as described above and click the Deal button, or click Rebet to place the same bets as in the previous round.

Hand ranking: At every stage of the game round, the best hands available are formed automatically.

The dealer has to have at least a pair of 4s to qualify - if not, your Call bet is returned and the Ante bet pays according to the paytable. If the dealer qualifies and you win, your Ante bet pays according to the paytable and your Call bet pays even money. If you and the dealer have equal hands, the highest card out of the remaining ones available to each of you determines the winner.

If you and the dealer have hands of the same type, the one that includes the highest-value card wins (i.e. Three Kings beats Three Queens; a flush of A, 6, 5, 4, 3 beats a flush of K, J, 10, 8, 7). The Ace is a semi-wildcard; it can be the highest-value card in a straight of A, K, Q, J, 10, or the lowest-value card in a straight of 5, 4, 3, 2, A.

Tequila Poker

Tequila Poker is a game that combines elements of five-card poker and Blackjack. You are dealt four cards, and then have to choose whether you would like to go for a poker hand or a point total hand. You are then dealt another two cards. The five best cards out of six make up your final hand. Tequila Poker is played with a single 52-card deck. All cards are dealt face up.

To play the game: Click on a chip to select its value. Then click the chip, or the Ante circle on the table to place your bet. Every click increases your bet by the chip value, and every right-click decreases the bet. You can also click Clear bets to remove all chips from the table and start over. Click the Deal button.

Four cards will be dealt, and the point total of these cards will be displayed to the left of them. Now you must choose whether to play High Tequila, Tequila Poker, or to fold. If you choose to play, a second (main) bet will be placed, equal to your Ante bet. If you choose to fold, you will only lose your Ante bet. If you chose to play, two more cards will be dealt. The cards will then be rearranged so that the first five cards make up your best hand. Please note: in High Tequila, your lowest card is disregarded and the point total is made up of your 5 highest cards.

If your best five cards make up a winning hand, you win even money on the Ante bet; and your main bet pays according to the paytables on the left and right of the screen. If you do not have a winning hand, you lose your bets and the round is over. If you want to play another round, press New Game. Then place your bets as described above and click the Deal button, or click Rebet to place the same bets as in the previous round.

High Tequila: In High Tequila, card points are the same as in Blackjack: face value for number cards, 10 for picture cards. The Ace is always counted as 11. The lowest card is disregarded, and the rest of the cards must make up a point total of 46 or more to win. If you get a winning hand, your Ante bet pays even money, and your main bet pays according to the paytable on the left of the screen.

Tequila Poker: In Tequila Poker, your cards are used to make up the best possible five-card poker hand automatically. The remaining card is disregarded. You will need at least a pair of Aces to win. Please note that if the first four cards already make up a winning hand (for example, Two Pair or Three of a Kind), the name of the hand will be displayed under the cards when you are asked to make your play. If you get a winning hand, your Ante bet pays even money, and your main bet pays according to the paytable on the right of the screen.
